A&W Restaurants, Inc., is a chain of fast-food restaurants distinguished by its iconic draft root beer and root beer floats. A&W opened it’s first drive-in restaurant in Sacramento, California, in 1923. The company’s name was taken from the initials of partners Roy W. Allen and Frank Wright. A&W became famous in the USA for its “frosty mugs”.
